Personal Life
Merrick is selctively mute. He does not talk, but does communicate through nodding and shaking his head and does express frustration. He has made some sounds before, but never spoken properly. He is capable of talking, but the reason behind his mutism is unknown. He is also short. At half time, he is sometimes seen with his mouth moving, but he isn't actually talking.
He has formed a very close friendship with Ricardo Bunsen Berna, even though he is selectively mute and Berna doesn't speak English. They don't talk, but spend a lot of time together. They laugh a lot, but its all from physical comedy, not spoken.
His lack of English led Ricardo Bunsen Berna and him to have a fight with Bald John Green and Other John Green near the start of the 2013 - 2014 season. They were frustrated that they could not talk to their team mates.
When Ricardo Bunsen Berna left for Italy, Maric was devastated, but he supported him anyway.
At the start of the 2014 - 2015 season when some more Brazilians joined the team, Maric helped them to settle in, as he did with Berna.

Maric joined the Swoodilypoopers at the start of the 2012-2013 season.
He was cheap in the transfer market because of his selective mutism, but is still a talented player. He listens to the coach when he suggests improvements.

Maric is good friends with Väyrynen (We call him Bob) as they grew up together in one of the countries that used to be part of Yugoslavia.
